Whirl-Pak® Hydrated PolySponge™ Bags

Description

Features
•   Durable high-density polyurethane sponge is ready to use and resists tearing and fraying.
•   Each sponge is packed in a sealed 18-oz. (532 ml) write-on bag and is hydrated with 16 ml of HiCap™ Neutralizing Broth.
•   Terminally gamma processed to guarantee sterility
•   Two-year shelf-life with ambient storage at 36°-86° F (2°-30° C).
•   To use the sponge, tear open the top of the Whirl-Pak^® bag, squeeze out any excess HiCap™ Neutralizing Broth, swab the surface, insert the sponge back into the bag, fold the top of the bag over three or more times, and bend in the wire tabs to close. Send to a lab for testing
•   Bags are 9″ L x 4″ W (23 x 11.5 cm) with a thickness of 2.5 mils (.064 mm)
•   Box contains five foil pouches with 20 sponges each for a total of 100 sponges

  HiCap™ Neutralizing Broth Formulation Features
•  Can be stored at a temperature range of 35.6° to 86° F (2° to 30° C)
•  Does not interfere with established immunoassays or newer generation molecular diagnostic tests with genetic amplification
•  Does not contain agents (citrate, bisulfite, and thiosulfate) that are reported to interfere with 3M™ Petrifilm™
•  Has sufficient buffering capacity to handle low pH (high acid sanitizers)
•  Includes vegetable peptones (not digested with animal-derived enzymes) and yeast extract, instead of meat peptones or meat extracts
•  Only includes components that are found on U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s EAFUS
(Everything Added to Food in the United States) list, as materials acceptable for inclusion in food
•  Only includes components that are considered to be nonallergenic
